This design features a painting by Bavarian artist Albrecht Adam (–), who was an official artist to the Bavarian contingent in Napoleon Bonaparte’s army during the Russian campaign. It shows an image of two beautiful thoroughbred horses beside a rustic country house; there are other animals in the scene, such as various dogs, a deer and a rabbit; a stag’s head is hanging on the wall, which is covered in beautiful green foliage.
